A few more from the mountains!

Hi guys! We're back!

We've got fun pictures of our own to share, but Mom's been experimenting today with the computer today so we haven't been able to upload them yet. She's installed Linux - Ubuntu - hoping that it will work well and speed up a somewhat aging computer. It sure is faster, so hopefully it will all work out nicely (and she's just added the Ubuntu, not deleted Windows, and can choose what system to launch when she turns it on). She did a test - from turning on and getting online using Firefox: Windows Vista used 2 minutes 30 seconds and Ubuntu used 49 seconds...

Here are some more mountain pix Mom wanted to share. (You might get to see more later - they are on the camera along with ours.)

The colors of the cottages are perhaps boring - but that makes them blend in nicely.

When it's cold, like high in the mountains, even flowers need furs!

This little guy - well, the guy inside the house - is a larvae that builds a house of tiny rocks when he live in running water. That prevents the larvae to be rushed downstream. In the shallow ponds the same kind of insect larvae use organic matter to build their house with, since there's no chance of getting flushed away. Neat, huh?

We had all kinds of weather other than snow - rain, wind, sun, hail...

This picture was taken only seconds later.. LOL!

Everything looks so beautiful!

We're super jealous that you got snow, we've been having a heat wave in New York and can't wait for this summer to end!

Can't wait to see your other photos!
