Mom and I have also started to work on a few tricks for the.. ahem.. hearing impaired.. as it seems I'm not hearing quite as well as I used to. Mom says it's nice I've stopped barking at barking dogs on TV (I don't mind actual dogs barking, it's the rude ones that hide I dislike), but it's nice to be able to communicate, too. I'll try to get a video to show you soon.

Meet Gummi! Yay!

Happy Sunday, Friends!

We have some exciting news for you. We now know which of the puppies will be our new brudder! It's the puppy with the white neck patch! His name will (most likely) be Gummi! It started with a suggestion of Ruben or Ruber for a name, meaning red. Someone mentioned how that sounded almost like rubber. Mom thought rubber was a fun name for a bouncy dog, but it doesn't sound good in Norwegian. So she translated it to Gummi and liked it. It's also got association to gummy bears wich are sweet like Gummi is. Do you think a name like that will make him too bouncy? BOL.. At least I've lived up to MY name.

Countdown

We've finally set a date for when we're picking up my little brudder! One week from Sunday, which means we'll leave one week from tomorrow. This weekend is work weekend, though.. Not the most fun of weekends. Mom's working early, so we're going to bed early tonight. Mom just got off the phone with Grandpa, he's finally home from Vietnam. He's been there all year, so it's nice to have him back. We'll have him over for dinner next week.

There was a package in the mail for us yesterday - a collar for the puppy:


Now isn't that cute? It'll probably be too large now, but he'll grow into it soon.


The Lemon Drop chili is in bloom, finally! We're very excited to see how these chilies turn out.

'Kay, time for my walkie!

Tasty Thursday

We tasted the first chilis from our Filius Blue plants today, chopped them up and added to our tomato sauce.


Well.. at least it was the intention! Mom forgot, so had to mix it in after the tomato sauce, meat and bechamel sauce were in the pan. She even had to take the cheese back off! BOL! The green stuff is herbs from our greenhouse (basil, thyme, oregano, parsley).

But it's not like the sauces don't mix in the oven anyway, so no biggie. The chilis both smelled and tasted rather fruity (think apple/pear). The flesh wasn't very hot, but the veins and seeds were. Two chilis, but the seeds of only one half, in this dish made for a little heat, but only barely.

We're moving. Sort of.

As most of you know we're moving in June.. But since nobody lives in the house the humans got to take some stuff out there this weekend. The back seats from P.A.'s car has already been out there for a while (since just after the tires were stolen..) and they might take some more stuff out there soon. Nice to not have to move so much once June arrives, especially since there should be a tiny poopie here at the time, too.


A nice stack of Ikea boxes with all sorts of stuff in them, parked in the living room.


The new floor is down and the walls are painted, now they only need to get the baseboards up. The new shower, sink and stuff in the bathroom should arrive soon, too.. And they're almost done upstairs.

Kitchen cabinets are painted and the new counter top is in place.


From the outside - the vertical line on the wall is the new fire escape.
