Teaching Tuesday

Okay - so some of you asked about the cat show so we thought we should post and tell you a leetle bit about what it's all about. Plus Mom need to finish the final American lit. paper and is easily distracted. BOL!

Unlike a dog show where you can come just before your assigned time. With dogs you get an aproximate time in advance and your breed will not show before this. All dogs of the same breed (not always the puppies if there are many dogs) will be shown for the same judge and at the same place. The cats must arrive early in the morning (7-8AM), go through a vet check and be set up in their crate where they must stay all day (7PM). They don't have to be locked in at all times- they come out to see the judge and to cuddle and stuff but they can't leave the building.

This is Virus' mom, Justa.

This is Tilly, one of Mom's favourites. As you can see Lene's curtains are a little bit fancier than the ones Mom just made.

This is Virus' litter sister, Rapunzel.

This is Virus in his crate - we borrowed curtains that were baby blue and brown. In a way not too different from what we've got now. He got to have his carrier in there so he had a nice safe place to hide. He was just a kitten after all.

Here's a lovely (ahahaha) picture of Mom carrying Virus up to the judge. They're only judged on the table and the arm of the owner/assistant carrying them.

Having a good look at Azari..

Virus having a little prayer before it's his turn.

Virus on the table.

Cat shows are a bit confusing as several judges can judge one breed - but all cats from one "colour group" will be with the same judge. Lene said this coming show she'll have 4 judges each day - so will be running around like crazy trying to keep track of who should be where - and when.

That cat show does sound confusing. And such long days during which you have to look handsome all day. No wonder Virus is saying a little prayer.

Good luck Virus!

That picture of Virus saying his little prayer is one of our ALL-TIME FAVOURITES!!!

#1 went to that CFA cat show in Tokyo and understood absolutely nothing about the judging! Uncle U has been trying to explain and she still understands nothing!

Ahh.. CFA shows are a whole lot more confusing since a cat can be up with up to 6 judges plus some top 10 stuff. We're going to a FIFE show which is much quieter.

Wow that is super interesting - I had no idea cat shows were so crazy! It seems like a lot to keep track of all day.

I love the picture of Virus praying before seeing the judge - it is so cute and he looks a bit nervous in it!

Wow, that is so interesting about the cat show! Love the pics -- Virus saying a prayer is adorable. What sort of kittens are the ones in the pics from the post below? I don't really know much about the different breeds -- I've had cats all my life, but they've just been cats. I want to also tell you that I love your new banner and the seasonal background. Good luck with your paper. I love the show judges' outfit in the last pic, tho Virus doesn't look like he appreciates it much!

Hi Bajas! That picture of Virus praying is priceless. And your mom is very pretty.

I had no idea that cat shows were so confusing. It looks confusing in pictures but I'm sure it's even more confusing in person.

Virus and his family are very good looking. I can see why they compete in shows and I bet they win too.

My Mommeh really enjoys going to cat shows! I am glad that I do not have to be shown because I would be far too scairt. And I am a "pet quality" Devon Rex!

We all think Virus is sooo handsome, he'll be sure to win, and our mewmie said she started out with a little duffle bag for cat show stuff and now has a big wheeled suitcase--she's the decoration queen, hahameow

We love love love the photo of you saying your prayers, Virus! We don't think you need fancy curtains. You are such a handsome kitty that you should be the main focus:)

All I can say is, Virus is one the the most handsome cats I've ever seen! I see many ribbons in his future.
