/fu:d/

Hi guys!

Mom is working on her phonetics today - actually phonemics. They will be having a little test today to show they've learned the vowel symbols. Mom hasn't quite had the time to focus on that until now - and tomorrow she's got a reading test! Yikes. At least she had the time to teach me the most important word: /fu:d/

If you, for whatever reason, would like to see where in the mouth various sounds are made you can check it out here: http://www.uiowa.edu/~acadtech/phonetics/# We thinks it is funny to watch that weird tongue go everywhere!

And since the topic today is /fu:d/...

Some fish gratin thingy mom invented..

How 'bout a baked ginger bread door sign for Christmas?

Home made chili for dinner the other day..

If Mom had more time to help me look for pix they would be more fun (they would be all ME and raw MEAT!) but /fu:d/ is /fu:d/ after all.

Now time for lunch!

  1. I think all your brains have gone to your belly to digest that fu:d. You look most contented.

  3. Wow...thank you for this helpful and informative post Bajas!

Mom especially loved the gingerbread door thing (and can picture herself taking a bite every time she walked into the house!)

Nice job helping mom with the fu:d!

  8. Oh I had to do things with phoenetics when I took my linguistics class - it was much harder then I thought it would be. Tell her good luck with the studying!

Phonetics is a tough one. Been there, done that! (And passed by the skin of my teeth!)
